Yet another cold and Blustery Day on the hill as temperatures are chili and the snow is falling little on the grassy surfaces and someone to drive but not much there yet that could change overnight.

Today’s high was 25 reached at 2:31 p.m. and the low was 15 reached at 4:12 a.m. that puts the average temperature at 20 degrees.

We had nothing in the CoCoRaHs Station this morning keeping our totals for snow at a Trace and precipitation at 1.7 in. 

In Pittsburgh that was a different story as there was 0.1 in of snow and a trace of precipitation at 7 this morning. For precipitation in Pittsburgh .51 in has fallen in the past month, 22.18 in has fallen since June and 40.89 in has fallen all year in the year 2017. The brings are snowfall for the month of season to 3.0 inches.

On the Youghiogheny River Connellsville today the river gauge reading at 7 a.m. was 2.59 in level 3 hundreds of an inch. As I was driving through town today I saw the two gentlemen working on the river gauge and thank you to them for resetting it and making sure that it is good for us to get are river readings readings. Tomorrow’s forecast is 2.6 in of water in the river.

For the fire weather forecast,Accumulating snow is forecast in most areas tonight as low pressure crosses. Snow showers linger on Thursday, with a break from the snow Thursday night into Friday. Below normal temperatures will continue into the weekend, with some moderation thereafter. The Haines index is forecasted to remain around 3 for the next few days.

For the air quality forecast, the forecast for Thursday in Pittsburgh is code level GREEN,which is good, and means little or no health risk. The primary pollutant will be particles.

The normal High temperature for Pittsburgh tomorrow is 40 degrees and the record temperature is 67 in 1901. The normal low temperature in Pittsburgh is 26 and the record is 3 above set in 1914.
