Today’s weather was cold and blustery with snow mixed in during the day and heavier Lake Effect bands occuring during the early evening. In the Northeast ridges of Fayette county it snowed heavily Shortly after sunset.

Now to Precipitation, as of 7:00 AM, zilch of Precipitation was in my CoCoRaHs Station. The weather service in Pittsburgh today had an entirely different story as the Precipitation was 0.12″ with 2.3″ of Snow. The month totals are 0.51″ and 2.6″ respectfully. The Snow is also at 2.6″ for the season. Furthermore, Precipitation records are 22.89″ for the season and 40.89″ for the year.

The High Temperature was 43, that occurred at 3:09 A.M. The low minimum Temperatures today was 21, recorded at 3:59 P.M.  The average Temperature was 32. Furthermore, it should be noted that the air Temperature dropped 23 Degrees in a 12 hour and 50 minute timeframe.

The river gauge on the Youghiogheny River at Connellsville today is working and the morning reading was 2.62′, tomorrow morning’s stage is forecasted for 2.6′.

As for fire weather forecast for tomorrow the Haines index remains at 3 for at least the next few days. Sharply colder temperatures and bitterly cold wind chills expected through Wednesday. A few lake-effect snow bands will bring localized accumulating snow, with a more widespread snow event expected to bring several inches to the region Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night.

The Air Quality Forecast for Wednesday in Pittsburgh is code level GREEN, which is good, and means little or no health risk. The primary pollutant will be particles.

The normal maximum Temperature for Pittsburgh tomorrow is 40 degrees and the record is 71, set in 1971. The normal minimum Temperature is 26 and the record is-5, set in 1962.

Sunrise is set to occur at 7:36 AM and Sunset will occur at 4:55 PM.

A few lake-effect snow bands will bring localized accumulating snow, with a more widespread snow event expected to bring several inches to the region Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night. The valley areas are Forecast for 2-3″ of snow and the mountains 4-6″ of snow. As of 10:30 PM tonight, no snow is on the ground and a trace of snow is In the CoCoRaHs Station.
